Spurs Sports & Entertainment Art Collection

In 2001, Alice was tapped by the owners of the San Antonio Spurs to develop a one-of-a-kind art collection reflecting the local culture and community.

Using directive words like entertainment, rodeo, basketball, hockey, family and patriotism, Alice created a vision statement that launched the creative process and used it to guide each commission and selection.

Since the project's beginning, Alice has assembled a regional, site-specific collection of more than 200 works featuring artists with ties to Texas. She continues to oversee the collection, ensuring all pieces are properly showcased and maintained throughout the Spurs Sports & Entertainment facilities.

I began working with Alice Foultz in 1988 when I moved from Corpus Christi and opened an office in San Antonio, Texas. We had just met and I found her to be kind and friendly, as well as extremely knowledgeable and skilled in working with artists. My first purchase is still a treasured piece hanging in my residence entry. Our professional work continued. The most daunting project was the purchase of a large amount of art and its placement in the AT&T Center when it was built. This came at a challenging time for Alice as she experienced a sudden family trauma. Despite this, she remained professional, hard working and capable. I am grateful for her personal friendship as well as our professional friendship. You will find Alice to be of the highest character, skilled in her job and a pleasant lady with whom to work. Be assured she will be on time and go to work immediately, finding precisely the art you wish to purchase and negotiating the sale. Alice does not dawdle; she will produce results. ”
